Advanced Deep Tissue Assessment and Application
is an approach to bodywork that focuses on the alignment and/or misalignment of our client’s body.

This advanced modality offers an opportunity to observe the client, document their posture and together determine a protocol or sets of protocols that will enable the practitioner to facilitate a realignment of the client’s structure to obtain a more balanced function. Through the use of three forearm tools, four olecranon tools, soft fists and knuckles the practitioner will apply deep focused strokes to elongate soft tissue creating an increase in fluid movement and range of motion as well as a decrease in pain levels that are a result of the body not functioning in proper alignment. Utilizing breathing techniques, bodywork and ROM activities the practitioner and client work together creating muscular and energetic releases.

Course Objectives

  • To identify the tools for this modality.
  • To explore the application of these tools.
  • To discuss the benefits of applying these tools to facilitate our client’s wellness plan.
  • To observe and document clients posture before, during and after the session.
  • To demonstrate body mechanics for focused deep tissue application.
  • To explore ROM activities to enhance clients awareness of alignment.
