This session combines group dialogue, self-audits and reflections to better ourselves and, in turn, our communities.
About this Event
Self-care is the practice of taking an active role in protecting one’s own well-being and happiness, in particular, during periods of stress.
Self-care is not an indulgence. Self-care is a discipline.
It requires tough-mindedness, a deep and personal understanding of your priorities, and a respect for both yourself and the people you choose to spend your life with.
*
This session will combine group dialogue, self-audits and self-reflections to continue in our individual and collective journeys to better care for ourselves, and in turn for our communities.
This facilitation will work to uncover more about how if we are caring for and balancing all aspects of self, we can do better work, as it is richer coming from a place of wholeness.
*
Session Objectives:
Define self-care in individual, community, cultural and organizational contexts; as well as what messages we have received about self- care in each
Understand barriers to self-care; gain more holistic understanding of where our time, energy and other resources are being spent
Determine what stands to be gained and what stands to be lost if self-care is welcomed versus if self-care is abandoned
Clarify next steps and implementation plan for self-care
This class will help us to relax our minds and bodies while intertwining breath-work and slow movements to bring the greatest release. Props are welcomed and encouraged!
