You’ve probably seen his image—an elephant head, a generous belly, and a presence that makes you stop and look. But who is Ganesh, and what do the details of his image have to tell us?
Join Ganapatsy and Steven on 11/11 for the first gathering in Meeting the Hindu Divine, a series exploring Hindu deities through their stories, symbolism, and spiritual practices. Each gathering will begin with learning and conversation before moving into guided meditation and Reiki.
Gathering on 11/11 adds a little magic of its own—a date many associate with alignment, intuition, and new beginnings, making it a meaningful time to explore what Ganesh might help us open within ourselves.
We begin with Ganesh, widely honored as a remover of obstacles and associated with wisdom and new beginnings. Together, we’ll explore his stories, look closely at his symbolism, and introduce mudras—sacred hand gestures—and yantras, geometric forms used in spiritual practice.
Then we’ll turn inward. Through guided meditation and Reiki, we’ll make space to reflect on our own beginnings, the obstacles we’re facing, and what opening the way might mean in our lives. There will also be time to share experiences and ask questions.
Ganapatsy brings over 40 years on the yogic path and training in the ISHTA tradition, integrating Hatha, Tantra, and Ayurveda. Steven brings his work as a Reiki Master and channeler, his Ayurvedic training, and his ongoing studies in Religious Studies. Both share a love of exploring how spiritual traditions can become meaningful, lived experiences.
No previous knowledge or meditation experience is necessary. Come with curiosity and a willingness to explore.
